Ergonomic Assessments

Coastal Physiotherapy’s Occupational Therapist offers Ergonomic Assessments in Maroochydore, the Sunshine Coast (and north to Gympie, Maryborough, Bundaberg), Brisbane, and the Gold Coast. An ergonomic assessment (also known as workstation assessment) involves analysing a person’s workstation to ensure that it is ergonomically designed to minimise injury and suit the user’s stature.

The ergonomic workstation assessment will provide advice in relation to a person’s physical suitability to the size and adjustability of their chair, desk, keyboard, mouse, monitor or laptop and other organisational equipment.

In formulating recommendations, the OT will take into consideration the persons posture, physical and muscular demands, environmental factors (lighting, noise and temperature), work demands (repetition and pace of work) and the specifics of any reported injury.

A workstation assessment can be used to promote productivity in a healthy workplace by improving work comfort, and therefore speed and efficiency, by minimising the risk of injury, OR to support the return to work of a worker following injury.
