Ben McHugh

Physiotherapist

Ben is a Physiotherapist who joined Coastal Physiotherapy in April 2017.

Ben graduated from the University of Queensland with first class Honours in 2012. After graduating he worked in his home town of Bundaberg for two years in both private practice and and hospital settings. Since then he has worked as a physiotherapist in both hospitals and private practice in Australia and England.

Ben’s main areas of clinical interest are sporting and musculo-skeletal injuries as well as rehabilitation after orthopaedic surgery. Ben has experience rehabilitating a wide range of orthopaedic surgeries including knee replacements, arthroscopic knee surgery (ACL and meniscal repair), hip replacements, spinal surgery and shoulder surgery (rotator cuff repairs, arthroscopic decompression and total shoulder replacements). Ben has completed further training in knee physiotherapy, Mulligan treatment techniques of the upper limb and neck and Pilates.

Ben specialises in individualised hands on treatment, and functional recovery through exercise rehabilitation. He excels in educating his clients in all aspects of injury and disease management, exercises and the self-management of pain and muscle tightness to allow progression of in-rooms treatment to successful outcomes that can be managed by the individual.
